  1. Hi Mike,
Thank you for your review of THE ULTIMATE POWER GENERATOR. With all the energy issues our world is facing, it seems to make sense to put up the money for building your own. It would be nice to know how much your average electrical bill was before you built yours and how much your “average” bill is today. Is it possible to email me that information?

  2. Hello Mike,
Please tell me how this machine connects into the household power supply so that all these claimed energy costs savings can be achieved. I still need some convincing as to the legitimacy of this unit.
    Regards, Alwyn.

    • Hi Alwyn,

I should have mentioned this in my review, but the book explains it clearly with diagrams. Basically, it says you’ll need to install the generator, batteries, charge controller, and inverter. Place a transfer switch near the main electrical panel, and connect the inverter output to the transfer switch input. Finally, link the transfer switch output to your home’s electrical distribution panel. Remember to consult a licensed electrician for safety and adherence to local regulations.

  3. Hi Mike,
    What batteries are required,please?
I want to upgrade my solar system, which has a 3kw , 230 v Inverter and charge controller built in.
I’d like to be less dependent on unreliable Solar energy, which is so dependent on sunshine…
I have 2 x 335 AH Gel Deep cycle batteries, plus 4 x 100 AH Lead Carbon Batteries..

    • Hi Rob,

You can choose whatever batteries suit you best.

Currently, you have 2 x 335 Ah gel deep cycle batteries and 4 x 100 Ah lead carbon batteries. Combining these gives you a total of 1,070 Ah of storage capacity. To determine if this is enough, you’ll need to consider your daily energy consumption and how many days of autonomy you’d like to have (meaning how many days you want your battery bank to support you without solar input).

For an upgrade, you might want to consider lithium-ion batteries. They have a higher energy density, longer lifespan, and better charge/discharge efficiency compared to lead-acid or gel batteries. When selecting batteries, make sure they are compatible with your existing 3 kW, 230 V inverter/charge controller. Some popular lithium battery options include:

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4): These batteries have a long lifespan (up to 10 years or more) and a high cycle life (up to 5,000 cycles). A common capacity for a 12V LiFePO4 battery is around 100 Ah. To increase your current storage capacity, you could consider adding several of these batteries to your system.

Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide (LiNiMnCoO2 or NMC): These batteries have a slightly higher energy density than LiFePO4 and are also widely used in solar energy systems. They have a slightly shorter lifespan (around 7-10 years) and a lower cycle life (up to 2,000-3,000 cycles) compared to LiFePO4. Similar to LiFePO4, you can find these batteries in various capacities, like 100 Ah for a 12V system.

I hope this helps you in your quest for energy independence! Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Mike

  5. Hi Mike.
You say that the cost of the generator is cheap but what is the additional cost of batteries, charge controller, and inverter and transfer switch. As the generator is only part of the system I am curious as to the cost of the full system. (Even the cheapest one for a base idea of cost.)
